Platelet rich plasma injections are a natural regenerative treatment option for many conditions such as tendinopathy, ligament injury, muscles strains/tears and joint pain related to osteoarthritis.

In platelet rich plasma therapy, a patient’s blood is drawn first and placed into centrifuge. After being spun, the patient’s own platelets are extracted and injected into injured or damaged tissue. These platelets release biochemicals in the form of granules that create an inflammatory response to enhance the healing process.

PRP is an office-based procedure with a relatively quick recovery time. Typically, patients see vast improvements within a number of weeks. Continued improvement may be seen over the next few months.

PRP and Prolotherapy can be combined to create optimal effects. Dr. Sellars will evaluate your injury and may recommend PRP, Prolotherapy or a combination on a case-by-case basis.
