Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment

This treatment is utilized by osteopathic physicians to help diagnose, treat, and prevent injury. DOs utilize this manual medicine technique to diagnose and treat a variety of conditions. DOs are trained extensively in manual musculoskeletal medicine in addition to their medical training allows them to understand the interconnectedness of the body’s complex systems to find the most effective treatment for a patient.

Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment “OMT” consists of manual medicine techniques performed by licensed osteopathic physicians, “DO’s.”  DO’s, are fully licensed medical doctors who have additional training with the holistic philosophy that the body has the ability to heal itself.  Using this holistic approach to patient care, the osteopathic physician can facilitate healing and relieve pain, by incorporating osteopathic manipulative treatment “OMT” into the treatment plan for patient’s with painful conditions.
